Further's new record Tactics, out Feb 2008!

In case you were wondering whether Further were still a band, we thought we'd jump online and give you some news. MySpace is fun for a while, but let's face it, there's just too many knob-ends on there. So here we are, back on old technology, where we're most comfortable. Our new record is recorded, mastered and off being manufactured. It's coming out in Feb 2008, and it's our best yet. Called "Tactics", it features 10 songs and will be available in the CD format. If you don't buy it, we won't be able to make another one! More news soon!

Further's Videos are up on You Tube!

Hit Further's You Tube Profile (click on the banner above) soon to see a shitload of Further videos. Some are live stuff that people have filmed with camera phones, some are video clips and some are just plain stupid. Check it out for yourselves!

Matt's side project The Government now on iTunes

The Government's prog rock rock explorations were as short-lived as they were loved by their fans. The out-of-print Underwater Themes For An Overrated Film is now available through iTunes and is finding a new legion of digital fans. Check it out if you like lots of guitar, stoner grooves and solos!

Further: Live At Spectrum On DVD

In early 2005, Further, The Nation Blue, Blacklevel Embassy, Spod and Grand Fatal Played a special gig at Spectrum. To commemorate such a powerful night of rock 'n' roll, Matt Weston of The National Blues had it shot on video and edited into this kick-ass DVD. There's a live set from each band, as well as all of the videos released by each band. Now that's value. In stores April 3 or available at gigs now!

New Further Single Featuring A Slew Of Bonus Material

The new single from Further!, Fools In Love, is out now. As well as the instrumental live favourite Clawhammer Banjo, the single serves as a history lesson, featuring one track from each band member's various previous or side projects. It will include tracks from The Government, Quoit, Tweezer, Galucci and Gentlenemy. That's value for money!

National Tour Is Over

Further's national tour with good pals the Tucker Bs is done and dusted. The Moody Prowl saw both bands playing in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, Adelaide, Fremantle, Bunbury and Perth. Thanks to everyone who came along and allowed themselves to be verbally abused and well-and-truly rocked. Stay tuned for more Further dates to be announced as we head back in your direction soon!

Rolling Stone Magazine Names Further! In The Top 50 Records of 2005

Rolling Stone have kindly included us in their rundown of the top 50 records released in 2005. Sure we only just scraped in at number 49, but we reckon that's pretty good considering the calibre of bands that didn't make the cut. Cheers! You can find it in the 2005 Yearbook issue.

Please Help Us Fill In The Gaps

Further are currently putting together a film about our history as a band and the Sydney punk scene during the eight or more years that we've been playing, to be released on DVD in early 2006. We need your help in filling in some of the gaps, so if you have any photos or video footage of us (especially of the early years) we'd love to get hold of them (we'll get any tapes or originals you lend us back to you we promise!). Please email cibot@furtherrocks.com if you have anything we can use!
